Custom Computers

Specialized applications often require specialized computers. Small businesses and individuals alike can benefit from such things as redundant mirrored hard drives to ensure continuity and protect data. Composers and video editors need silent components and huge hard drives though. I know this because, as a composer, I need silent components and huge hard drives.

Most major vendors load commercial computers with demo software and useless, underpowered applications. If you’d prefer the simplicity and price of a name-brand computer, such as Dell or Toshiba, one can be set up to your exact specifications, including software suites and hardware upgrades.

If you want the ultimate in performance, however, something has to be custom built. Using top-of-the-line components for everything from cases to hard drives to processor heatsinks is almost mandatory, but I like to focus more on the areas many others ignore. I install much quieter, longer-lasting Pabst fans in power supplies and on processors and video cards. I use top-notch thermal grease. I replace stock chipset coolers with larger, slower fans.

My custom computers are perfect for musicians, as living room DVR’s or for use in other common areas, or just for people who are tired of hearing the same noise from their office day after day.
