How to edit a page on your site
Using the WordPress page editor is a fairly straightforward process. Preparing documents for display in a variety of browsers on several platforms is not the simplest of tasks, but the editor handles the vast majority of the work for you. The editor is not perfect, and it is not without its learning curve, however. This page will help you to better understand the WordPress page editor and how to put it to use for you.
First, make sure you log in to your web site. If you haven’t already created a page to edit, add a new page to your site as well.
The Basics
To select a page to edit, choose Manage, then Pages (to edit Posts follow the same instructions) from the menu in your site administration area. You will be directed to a list of the pages on your site, from which you simply choose by clicking its title. From there you will be presented with the page editor.

There are really only three primary elements to a page.
- The title of the page
- The content of the page
- Saving the page
The other item listed as (a) can be selected to reveal the second row of editor options, which is recommended.
Standard formatting can be applied to content in the editor by using the available buttons. Bold, italics, numbered lists, and fonts can all be included or manipulated by using the editor. Popup hints for each editor button will appear if you place your mouse over the buttons.
Adding Images
The ability to add and change your own content, including images, is what makes WordPress such a wonderful platform. Adding images to your pages is simple.

First, select the button next to “Add media” in the editor. A screen will load allowing yo to choose from images already added previously to your website or to upload new images. Select the proper option and follow the prompts to locate the image on your computer. After the image is uploaded or chosen, you must set a few basic parameters for it to display properly. You will see these in the next screen.

Unless you intend for your image to link to another page, select the None button circled in the image. If you do wish for the image to link somewhere, populate the Link URL field accordingly.
You should also choose the alignment and size of your photo, which in most cases will rely on medium or full size images.
To change an image after it has been inserted into a page, click the image and select the Edit Image popup button.

Permalinks
The permalink for a page is its name in relation to the site. For instance, if a page has a permalink name of “how-to-sing” then the page would be accessible at http://www.yourdomain.com/how-to-sing
You can alter these permalinks as you see fit. Keeping these short and simple is recommended to make your site navigation as fluid as possible.
